China Donates Uniforms to Sudanese Basic School Students

The Chinese Embassy in Sudan on Monday donated more than 5,600 school uniforms to basic school students in Sudan.

The donation was part of a project co-launched by the Chinese embassy and a Sudanese non-governmental organization aiming at providing uniforms to basic school students in Sudan.

"In recent years, the Chinese Embassy in Sudan has cooperated with Al Birr and Al Tawasoul as well as other non-governmental organizations to implement more than 10 such projects in many Sudanese states," Chinese Ambassador to Sudan Li Lianhe said at the donation ceremony held at a school in the south of Khartoum.

Li commended these projects for playing "a positive role in improving the educational circumstances in these schools."

Batoul Al-Haj Al-Sheikh Al-Zaki, deputy secretary-general of Al Birr and Al Tawasoul organization, praised the school uniforms project as "a fruit of the standing cooperation between the Chinese embassy and the organization."

"We hope the project would motivate our students to focus on their studies. The project is expanding remarkably with the increasing number of students who benefited from it," she said.
